A superb condition Old Sheffield Plate Meat Dish Cover by T & J Creswick bearing the plate mark for 1811. A distinctive Crest to the front attributed to the ‘Dixon’ family of Scotland and North England. The shield depicts greyhounds running with a fess Barry striped horizontal band in the centre. The dish cover has heavy Old Sheffield plating on both the inside and out which is unusual as the inside is normally tinned. Any slight marks are commensurate with a piece that is over 200 years old. 20cms high 31cms long 23cms wide
