Parian is a type of unglazed porcelain developed in the 1840s. It is characterized by a slightly grained surface that resembles marble and is often used for sculptures, figurines, and busts. This vase was created by Portmeirion Pottery, a company founded in 1960 by designer Susan Williams-Ellis. Portmeirion Pottery still produces pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
