This vintage Chinese trinket box is an example of the boxes fashioned from hand painted antique porcelain shards recovered and set into silver boxes in the 1980s. This box was highly tarnished, but I quickly cleaned it for photos. These boxes were handcrafted, so slight irregularities in shape and fit are normal. You can read a little about such boxes here:

Box measures approx. 3.75" long, 2.75" wide, 2.0" high at each end, 1.75" high in center. Bottom half of box is 0.75" deep. No chips or cracks in porcelain. No major flaws. A beautiful piece! Item #0126
