1st Q Unused only displayed piece.Long retired. A beautiful vintage rare early Emma Bridgewater hand decorated spongeware Barn Owl Half Pint Tankard Mug. Part of Emma Bridgewater’s Bird Birds Birds series. The text in blue “Barn Owl” is repeated around the inside rim. The cream-coloured stoneware vintage mug is covered in 5 images showing realistic images of Barn Owls with their distinctive heart shaped faces. The base stamp features an Oystercatcher seabird and says “Birds Birds Birds, Emma Bridgewater, Made in England”. Dates it to around 2004. The mug you receive will be the one in the photo. The mug is 9.5 cm (3 3/4 in) high, with a diameter of 8.5 cm (3 1/4 in). Holds 300 ml (10 fl oz / 1/2 Pint). Highly collectible, this charming early Barn Owl tankard mug is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, crazing or visible scratches. Does not appear to have been used much. Is a pre loved item. Please view photos. The design is long retired so hard to find this wonderful Barn Owl mug in such good condition. Bridgewater made many fabulous mugs with bird designs – collect them all.
