Vintage FIRE DEPARTMENT CONNECTION (FDC) SPRINKLER VALVES aluminum metal sign. This a real FDC sign and not a later copy which are much smaller!! An FDC is part of a building’s fire sprinkler system and plays a large role in its effectiveness suppressing fires. The FDC inlet and pipe system enables the fire department to supplement a fire sprinkler system’s water supply to ensure there’s sufficient water and pressure to suppress fires effectively. It can make the difference between a successfully suppressed fire that does little damage, and a total loss of the facility!! The lettering on this sign is cutouts from a sheet of red vinyl which was then adhered to the white aluminum metal. Rounded corners with small mounting holes for easy wall hanging. Very good overall condition with minor wear to red vinyl and white aluminum from use. Measures about 24” x 18”. See pics for more details and zoom in for closeups.
