Vintage Mug Mount St Helens Washington Eruption Commemorative Mug May 18 1980 Rare Cobalt Blue

"The eruption devastated 596 square kilometers (229 square miles) and destroyed timber valued at several million dollars. It spewed 520 million tons of ash across the U.S., causing complete darkness in Spokane.
The eruption was like uncorking a bottle of champagne. Hot rocks, ash, gas, and steam exploded upward and outward to the north.
A "bulge" developed on the north side of Mount St. Helens as magma pushed up within the peak. The bulge was growing at a rate of up to five feet (1.5 meters) per day.
In 2023, leftover debris from the 1980 eruption flowed down a creek and destroyed a bridge on the only road in to the observatory"
